The term Wildkin originated not with the practitioners themselves but with the Imperial administrators who needed a word to contain them. It arrived in official documents as a neutral descriptor. It was never neutral.

Practice

What the Wildkin actually do is harder to name than what they are called. They tend the flow, the current of energy that moves through living things, and they do it generationally, passing knowledge through apprenticeship rather than institution.

Politics

The Imperial connotation has created a strange recursion: some younger practitioners have reclaimed the term as an act of defiance, wearing it loudly. Others refuse it entirely.
