Senior Commander’s speech delivered to Legion warriors during the first few days of training. The speech is meant to inspire patriotism in young men.
Take a look around you.
A good look.
The city. The Empire.
Roads. Wells. Workshops. Homes. Farms. Families. Children.
A future.
None of these exist without the Empire.
The Empire does not exist without the Legion.
It does not exist without you.
It belongs to all of us.
Our Empire is under constant threat.
Foreigners want to take what’s ours.
Our jobs. Our wives. Our way of life.
They want to take it all away.
They want to destroy your culture.
To erase you.
Your family.
Your Empire.
Your future.
Look at the person beside you.
Each of us is only a piece of a much larger whole.
We cannot stand independently.
We cannot go it alone.
Your life is no longer entirely yours.
You belong to the Empire.
And the Empire belongs to you.
